My Interior Design Studio
I started my own studio in 2018 after years of experience working in Madrid and London. In 2020, I found the perfect space for it — right beneath our home on Upper Street in Islington. It had once been a restaurant storage area, but I saw its potential and transformed it into a creative workspace.
After moving into the building in 2021, I redesigned the 9-square-meter space to suit the studio’s needs. Although small, it’s efficiently divided into zones, allowing me to manage multiple projects at once. A long counter provides space for three people to work, and built-in storage holds materials, books, and samples. An acoustic panel improves sound quality and serves as a surface for pinning up ideas and references.

Creating a focal point for the window was key. I collaborated with artist Rachel Thomas — known for her work with luxury brands — to design a vibrant, three-dimensional Perspex sculpture. Inspired by a house model, it symbolises our work with private homes and subtly incorporates my initials. Its bold colours and playful structure draw attention and create a welcoming atmosphere.
The window offers passers-by a glimpse into our creative process, making the studio feel open and connected to the street. Though small, the studio is full of personality, functionality, and inspiration — it’s where ideas come to life every day.
