Studio Window
Display

Having moved into the building in 2021, Sara redesigned the space to suit the Studio. It needed dividing into discrete spaces in order to allow Sara to work on different exciting projects simultaneously.

Creating a striking feature for the window was key. Previously blue, it was repainted white but needed a central piece to draw the eye. Collaborating with Sara’s artist friend Rachel Thomas proved an excellent decision. Rachel’s experience in window dressing for big, luxury brands is underpinned by her practice as a maker. Together she and Sara came up with the idea of a large, coloured, Perspex structure. It’s reminiscent of a house model – denoting the Studio’s work with private properties – and includes pertinent touches like a staircase. Despite being a 3D version of Sara’s initials, the viewer is struck by the bright colours, opacity and angles of the shape. The logo adds a cosiness to the studio whilst acting as an eye-catching sculpture.
